Q: Can my student turn in an assignment late? Can my student make up missing assignments? A: Mr. Palacios accepts late work from students as long as it is turned in during the same unit we are studying. Any assignment that is missing is given a score of "0". Students will lose 25% for any assignment that is turned in late.
Q: Can my student earn extra credit? A: Mr. Palacios does not give extra credit assignments. However, Mr. Palacios does offer opportunities throughout each unit for extra credit. All students will be given the same options for extra credit. Extra credit will only be accepted if students have completed the assignment on the day that extra credit is given. Extra credit cannot be used instead of a daily assignment.
Q: Does Mr. Palacios give HW passes? A: No. Mr. Palacios does not give busy work. The assignments are designed to teach students specific concepts or skills. HW passes teach students that the work we do in class is not necessary or valuable.
Q: How come my student earned a "0" on an assignment? Why did my student get an "F" on an assignment? My student turned in an assignment, why did they get an "F" or a "0"? A: Sometimes students forget to turn in assignments that they have completed. Students earn a score of "0" or an "F" because their work is missing, was done incorrectly, or is incomplete.
